Inequality

When I’m talking about inequality, I’m not talking about some people having lots and some people having not much.

I’m talking more about this:

How do we get economic solutions to end up covering every last person of the 8 billion?

Every time we create a solution it seems somewhat win/lose for other regions (that’s OK- this is just problem solving)

How do we get the maximum number of people moving up the levels in

We could create “types of work people”- what they’re going for in careers, that genuinely matches the 8 billion. For example, some people want to move around. Some people want to use their minds. Some people want to create art. Some people want a feeling of getting things done.

People spend a very large amount of time at work, not just over their lives, but every day and week.

I know that expectations is an important part of this. The fact is, most jobs aren’t that exciting.

It’s kind of sad though, because people stagnate in terms of brain associations. But that’s OK- you can have hobbies outside of work.

In the types of career motivations, we could have certain types of rewards for work hours.

And potentially we could move consumption towards what creates the best jobs for the maximum number of people?

But isn’t this really fragile? Won’t this just collapse, whether in 20 years or 40 years or 80 years?

 

There does seem to need to be some kind of international sharing system with jobs and industries, but this would be some pretty advanced problem solving because some of the bottom 10% are always going to exploit opportunities in an unfair way.

 

Alright, we could have international needs then wants, and we could create benefits and expectations around each kind of industry.

This would need to take into account recessions, competition and GDP growth. But this is an additional problem to be solved.

 

If you look at a household budget, you can get an idea of what people want to buy.

And then you have B2B budgets- I’m not sure what’s in them but each industry will have its own.

 

This question is pretty broad though… its looking at the entire world, because inequality is so hard to solve, especially for basic priority lists of needs

It makes a lot of sense for people to solve this locally, then regionally

Trying to make jobs locally would involve market research- would look at the probabilities of what potential e.g. cities, companies, B2B, countries, regions, are likely to buy (e.g. what are they currently buying, what are all the regional and similar countries exporting),

what people might buy in the future for any reason

And then all the categories of what people can produce, both now, with levels 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 quick training, and with levels 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 longer term training (most likely for job lifestyles and goals they like)

 

Alright, we have 8 billion people. So we would have certain kinds of jobs that need to be created to cover people

And then we would go in the wants areas, and could create long-term demand for the jobs that employ the maximum number of people with the best lifestyles with them

So, instead of looking at things through a Maslow’s Pyramid (i.e. bottom to top layered approach) approach,

We could look at this as income sources (categories and specific) that employ the maximum number of the 8 billion. And then optimise the benefits for these over time

  • And there would definitely be a million variations of these according to niches

 

They would need to be shared globally somehow

 

And what about recessions (i.e. competition, GDP growth, etc, being just right)? How does this work?

 

So in terms of quality of life (i.e. the other 8/10 goals), we could have the best categories of jobs- that are made to employ the maximum number of people

And then the other categories of jobs that fill in the gaps so that every last person from the entire 8 billion has enough

 

Is it a good idea or a bad idea to teach young people that they are likely to have to go down a career category, unless they want to switch careers at some point?

And we make the career categories continuously improving for wellbeing,

  • Although, this would take about 500 years to do properly

  • But every time we bring it forward, this means literal solutions now that increase the happiness and quality of life of hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands of people

  • Because ways to love your job lifestyle and goals makes everyone happier

  • But at the same time, its extremely likely that most meaningful goals are probably done outside of work

 

We could possibly look at houses, commutes, and power paradox as strongly intertwined with jobs

So having a short commute, and how this mixes with housing, affects people a lot

 

We know that food is a huge category

Can you really do career categories? For example, aren’t there 100 different types of jobs within food?

Alright, most careers have managers, administrators, implementers and physical staff

But how does this employ everyone?

And preferably within 500 years.

Preferably with higher levels across everything

Because the idea is that if there are categories, we can increase the “job lifestyle” within them while also managing career expectations

The thing is, you would have industry lifestyles, and career pathway lifestyles

So managing expectations would help a lot

But what careers employ everybody? Or what are the best careers to be in (e.g. lower risk, easier to get, lots of satisfaction)

I feel like I’m going around in circles.

 

Alright, so the world would have each person’s priority list of products and services they would like to buy this month, or this year… And we would have the total of these things.

And those are the things that need to be produced or imported, and in such a way that they employ everyone

  • But what about GDP growth? This is closely connected to recessions, isn’t it?

  • While each business does sales to get as much market share as possible

The entire world could channel demand so that it helps with this the most, first for making sure that all people are employed, and then for regularly increasing the number of people hired in the best job categories

We have a lot of people on earth, so % by %, I think we can solve it if we’re going in the right direction

And of course, managing expectations throughout the process to make sure that people have realistic expectations around the available career categories (while also helping to increase methods to make things better)

And of course anything to prevent -10s to -4s is very needed (e.g. if everyone did 5 to 15 things each week to prevent various problems now and further and further into the future)
